Hello~ I am a translator and proofreader from Germany.
I bring extensive academic expertise in translation and proofreading,
with a strong focus on translating from Japanese to German,
Japanese to English, and English to German texts.
Over the years, I have developed a meticulous eye for detail, a deep understanding of stylistics, and hands-on experience translating, proofreading, and editing a broad range of content, including literary works, subtitles, booklets, and interviews.
My familiarity with Japan-related terminology, cultural nuances,
and media genres—combined with my ability to work independently,
follow complex style guidelines, and meet tight deadlines—makes me confident
in my ability to uphold high standards for quality and consistency.
If you're looking for a dedicated translator, you've come to the right place.
Feel free to contact me :)
I have a Bachelor's degree in Japanese and German Studies and a Master's degree in Media Translation.
Furthermore I have a professional degree from the JVTA.
My studies have given me a wide range of practical and theoretical experience in the fields of translation, subtitling, script translation, dubbing, post-editing and proofreading of various genres and media types.
I speak German at native speaker level, English at near-native speaker level (C2), and Japanese at N1 level - including Kansai dialect.
I have already translated several manga for major German publishers. My specialty here is shojo manga.
In addition, I work for several major anime producers in Germany and internationally.
I was also part of an LQA game-testing team in Japan.
Through the JVTA, I also work on translations and proofreading of various media genres.
I also volunteer at various film festivals in Germany for translation and subtitling.
I lived in Japan for almost four years, spread over several periods of my life. During this time, I attended a Japanese high school and two universities on the one hand and worked for several companies on the other.
During this time, I lived with Japanese families and was able to gain a profound impression not only of the language, but also of the culture, history, traditions, cuisine, dialects and everyday life.
I have thus been able to gather experience from all stages of life, which I can now incorporate into my work.
